Congratulations to ENNAH
By Ronny Klaeboe Saturday 22. November 2008
After several months of uncertainty the ENNAH consortium led by Stephen Stansfeld and associates have received the good news that they will enter into negotiations with the EC commission for about 1 mill Euro. ENNAH is a coordination and support action (CSA): Health effects of exposure to environmental stressors. The ENNAH network seeks to establish future research directions and policy needs in Europe. The network will review the existing literature on environmental noise exposure and health focussing on the consolidation of existing state of the art knowledge and the identification of gaps in the evidence and future research needs and hypotheses to be tested. Junior researchers in noise and health will be welcomed to the field and trained by means of an exchange network stretching across Europe. The network will focus on noise exposure assessment in health studies in order to build more complex analytical models of noise and health effects that take into account moderating factors including the joint effects of air pollution and noise. A specific function of the network will be to establish communication between researchers on noise and researchers on air pollution. ECTRI partners DLR, TNO, INRETS and TOI partake in the network.

Congratulations to the HOSANNA team
By Ronny Klaeboe 22. November 2008
HOSANNA is an acronym for: Holistic and sustainable abatement of noise by optimized combinations of natural and artificial means. The main idea of HOSANNA is to optimize the use of green areas, green surfaces and other natural elements in combination with artificial elements in urban and rural environments for reducing the noise impact of road and rail traffic. After being ranked 14th out of 210 submitted EC 7th Framework proposals, the consortium lead by Jens Forssén at Chalmers in Sweden has been invited to enter negotiations for nearly 4 mill € with an expected start in the autumn of 2009. Well done!
